Hayleys PLC of
Sri Lanka has announced that Mr. Mohan
Pandithage will take office as Chairman & Chief
Executive of the Company on 1st July 2009.
Incumbent Hayleys Chairman & Chief Executive Mr.
N.G. Wickremeratne is retiring from the Company
on June 30th and Mr. Mohan Pandithage will
succeed him. This was confirmed at a meeting of
the Company’s Board of Directors on January 21,
2009.
Mohan Pandithage currently serves as Deputy
Chairman of Hayleys and is the CEO of the
Hayleys Advantis Ltd,() the Group’s
Transportation & Logistics business sector
subsidiary.

Pandithage has been associated with the Group
for many years and I have faith that he and the
Board of Directors will steer Hayleys in the
years ahead in accordance with its
long-established culture and traditions’ N.G.
Wickremeratne has said in announcing this
succession.
Mr. Pandithage began his career with Hayleys as
a Management Trainee in 1969. Serving in several
positions of increasing responsibility he was
appointed Managing Director of Hayleys Advantis
in 1988. In 1998 was he elected a Board Director
of Hayleys and in January 2007 was appointed
Deputy Chairman of Hayleys PLC.
Mr.
Pandithage has been associated with the
transportation & logistics industry for nearly 4
decades and represents its interests in several
local and international forums.
He is a member of the American Bureau of
Shipping; the SRILPO (Trade Facilitation)
Committee and of several Chambers of Commerce.
He has served as Board Director of Sri Lanka
Ports Authority, Jaya Container Terminals Ltd
and is currently a Director of Sri Lanka Port
Management Consultancy Services Ltd. He is a
former Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Ceylon
Association of Ships’ Agents. Mr. Pandithage was
adjudged the Best Shipping Personality in 2004
by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Sri
Lanka
Over a period of 38 years he has been credited
for developing and growing Hayleys’
transportation & logistics business under
Hayleys Advantis with a strong focus on
operational excellence.
Celebrating 50 years in the industry, Hayleys
Advantis is now the largest organisation in Sri
Lanka for both shipping and international
freight forwarding with many operations overseas
and significant experience in large scale
infrastructural project logistics. Hayleys
Advantis now offers seven key services -
International Freight, Third Party Logistics,
