to Eastern African Nations
Civaro uses multiple methods for movements into Eastern
Africa including, Sea- Air – Land (SAL Method), Sea –Air
(SAM) depending on Customer requirement and cargo
sensitivity and value.
Most East African cities and Countries are landlocked
and due to the still developing Logistics in the
Continent transporting time sensitive and valuable cargo
can indeed be a challenge to which Civaro has found
multiple solutions for our customers.
Sea-Air-Land –(SAL ) – The SAL combined method is used
for General time sensitive cargo , where customers in
Africa are sourcing from various locations in the Far
East to cities within Countries such as Kenya, Ethiopia,
Rwanda, Uganda etc from suppliers in China, Malaysia,
Hong Kong and Taiwan. Civaro acts as a single point of
contact for all the customers suppliers, arranging
transport, Consolidation, export customs clearances from
suppliers in Far East, and then containers are loaded
onto vessels bound for Dubai, UAE. In Dubai, Civaro
Transfer the cargo to Dubai International Airport, and
then the cargo is Air freighted to the relevant airports
in East Africa such as John Kenyatta airport in Kenya
using premier Airlines. On arrival by air, Civaro
proceeds to de-consolidate and allocate land transport
to the relevant country or city as stipulated by
customers.
Sea Air Model, or SAM, is also a multimodal operation
offering a combined sea-air service from the Far East to
Africa via Dubai. Civaro as in SAL method arranges for
all export preparations and shipments travel by sea
freight from the Far East to Dubai, transfersfered to
the Dubai International Airport. Then the shipments are
air freighted from Dubai to a number of African
destinations, using premier airlines from where the
Civaro proceeds to store in warehouses suitable for the
cargo type which could be perishable food items ,
climate sensitive computer accessories to flowers and
plants
Both SAL and SAM Multi Modal Logistics methods are a
cost effective alternative for shipments to Africa,
